With an $80 million budget, the film barely grossed $100 million, earning a dismal 12% on Rotten Tomatoes. Disney's Marvel films, with a $274 million budget, grossed only $206 million. Then there's Warner Bros.' epic flop, The Flash. With a production budget of over $200 million, it barely made $271 million worldwide. And Disney's Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Destiny, which cost $300 million, only grossed $381 million, becoming a lossmaker. Even Disney isn't immune to mistakes. The $200 million budgeted animated film "The Sweetest Thing" grossed only $254 million, which is extremely low for Disney animation. Critics called it one of the weakest in the studio's history. These five films collectively lost hundreds of millions of dollars, demonstrating that big names and huge budgets don't guarantee success.
