Ten historic dry docks: PortsmouthNo1, ChathamNo3, Sutherland in Sydney, the paired Canning complex in Liverpool, Thompson in Belfast, BrooklynNavyYardNo1 in NewYork, CharlestownNavyYardNo1 in Boston, Robinson in CapeTown, Fitzroy in Sydney and Suomenlinna in Helsinki. This is a selection, not an age or size ranking. PortsmouthNo1 was rebuilt repeatedly; it is neither unchanged1495fabric nor No6. ChathamNo3 differs from No4. Canning is represented by its first chamber and the paired complex counts once. Thompson is shown as the engineering structure, not the Titanic museum. Fitzroy and Sutherland are two separate repair chambers on CockatooIsland: Fitzroy was convict-built and Sutherland followed for larger ships. Different exact photographs represent them. Filling a graving dock with water is part of its engineering; these chambers are not ordinary harbour basins.
