Description

Tired of sticky price tags on your new microwave or kids' toy? These residues not only ruin the look but also collect dust. Plastics are especially susceptible, from Tupperware containers to appliance casings. But there are simple and effective ways to get rid of this mess.

Let's start with heat. A regular hair dryer set to medium power can work wonders. Heat the sticker for 30-60 seconds. The adhesive will soften, allowing you to easily remove the paper from a surface, such as a plastic storage box or a polypropylene toy.

When adhesive residue remains, oils can help. Apply a few drops of vegetable oil—sunflower or olive—to the adhesive residue. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then gently wipe away with a soft cloth. This method is ideal for sensitive surfaces, such as PVC window panels.

For stubborn stains, try rubbing alcohol or vinegar. Dampen a cotton ball with isopropyl alcohol (90%) and wipe the stain. This works well on hard ABS plastic, such as the back of a monitor. However, always test on an inconspicuous area first to avoid damage.

Never use acetone on polystyrene or other soft plastics—it will corrode them instantly. Remember: always work gently, without scraping. This will keep plastic surfaces, from children's toys to household appliances, in perfect condition.
